GC In Motion is teaming up with Garrett County Health Department’s Early Care Programs to expand our current program offerings to young families in our community.

The program is called Little Movers, and this week we are hiking & eating healthy! We understand it can be tough to fit in fitness with a young family. So, we’ve designed four unique events combining some of our most sought-after topics and expanding them to include busy parents/caregivers of little ones! Need an infant carrier to go along? No problem, we’ve got you covered! Bring the baby and enjoy some precious time outdoors followed by a fulfilling and nutritious meal!

Our recipe gallery was a huge success and we’re bringing it back to you with a twist! Some of you may remember Power Bowls with Haley, now instead of just watching the video on GoGarrettCounty.com, you can enjoy a freshly made Power Bowl at New Germany State Park for FREE! After a guided hike with Ranger Noah on the Turnpike Trail (just under 2 miles), we’ll return to the Tamarack Pavilion to learn about healthy eating and make a Power Bowl with Haley Gillespie, Nutrition and Wellness Consultant. Free play in the park follows the event.

Pre-registration is required and Infant carriers may be provided for those with a child under 32 lbs. and less than one year of age. Please call the Early Care at the Garrett County Health Department to register for the free event and get any additional details at 301-334-7720.

Here’s our Go! post with Haley if a Power Bowl sounds delicious and you just want to make one…. 🙂

The Early Care Unit at the Garrett County Health Department is one of our many partners through the GC In Motion Initiative, dedicated to making fitness opportunities free and available to Garrett County! We’re grateful for Early Care and all of our GC In Motion Partners!
