The Maryland Food Bank reached out and wanted to know where they could add an additional site for the Mobile Market. They’ve been collaborating with the Ruth Enlow Libary in Friendsville and Grantsville as valuable partners as we work together to help ease the burden of food insecurity. We hosted a public meeting on May 16th to allow Ruthie Pritchard from the Maryland Food Bank to hear firsthand from our community. Below is the recording of the meeting. I encourage you to listen to those who participated; you may be surprised at what you hear.

I approached the Loch Lynn Town Council and presented the potential partnership. I’m pleased to report that they voted to allow the Mobile Market to utilize the Loch Lynn Heights Town Hall once a month from 1:00 p.m. to 3:00 p.m. so that people can shop the truck. Maryland Food Bank is prepared to serve around 100 people and does not require proof of income or additional paperwork. If you know of a family or individual needing food resources, please let them know that on August 13th, the truck will be stocked and waiting in the Lock Lynn parking lot near the soccer field from 1:00 – 3:00 p.m. while supplies last. Visit GarrettCountyFood.com for a map of additional food resources.
