Chef Rob Scardina and I are back in the kitchen with the help of many great students to film the third Harvest Hub Meal Box recipe, Tailgate Pasta! The Harvest Hub Meal Boxes are full of farm-fresh goodness, and Chef’s expert instruction makes it pretty easy for the rest of us to create the same thing at home. This time, Chef Rob even prepared homemade chicken stock from the chickens at Wildom Farm. This meal box goes above and beyond to provide nourishment because everyone deserves to eat well!

ORDER A HARVEST HUB MEAL BOX

Here’s how it works: The box costs $30.00, and if you have a SNAP card, it costs $5.00. Boxes are also available to purchase and donate to a family in need. We will be set up at Southern High School on Tuesday, September 24th, at 5:30 to distribute the boxes that have been pre-ordered online. (click on the bold letters above)

This opportunity is possible through funding from the Centers for Disease Control & Prevention and the Maryland Department of Health via the Population Health, Innovation & Informatics unit within the Garrett County Health Department. Our participating farms include Backbone Food Farm, Honey Moon Farm, Ma & Pa’s Country Store, and FireFly Farms. We’ve added a few more: ALL Produce, Wildom Farm, and Three Sisters Farm.

There are so many people to thank who are helping the Harvest Hub make a difference. From sharing the social posts to growing the food, those who donate, share ideas and participate by purchasing the boxes, we value you and are incredibly thankful for your efforts. It continues to be an honor to nourish Garrett County through sustainable partnerships and student involvement.
