Welcome back to Day 9 of Walktober!
Today, we’re highlighting one of our favorite community trails – the Loch Lynn Town Trail.
The Loch Lynn Town Trail is an easy trail that is convenient and hosts wonderful views of one of Garrett County’s great small towns.
I first discovered this trail way back when Garrett County became the first Culture of Health community of Maryland (learn more at: https://www.rwjf.org/en/library/features/culture-of-health-prize/2017-winner-garrett-county-md.html) and helped host a tour of this trail for our community’s prize video. Ever since, it’s been one of my favorites for quick and easy exercise!
Here’s a brief description & link from Garrett Trails:
This is a short fitness/walking trail around the town’s athletic fields. The new section of trail provides an elevated boardwalk over a wetland area and gravel trail along the Little Youghiogheny River.

I will have to check this out.
This is our first stop of the day. Then on to Woodell Park in Mtn Lake and the path behind the Meadows complex in Mtn Lake. Gives our dog a chance for a break to drink water between stops… especially in the summer when it is hot.
The Loch Lynn trail is one of my favorites. Also great for short runs!
I use to love running over there when my son was younger during his soccer practices. Today i got my steps in way over in Boonsboro as i ran all over to cheer him on at his HS cross country meet.
We have often walked the Loch Lynn Trail. It is a short easy trail and very nice.
I love the Loch Lynn trail and use it often for walks with my teen or for a short run.
Only 6000 today
Knew about this one. Easy to get steps in while grandkids were at soccer practice.
I will have to check out this trail. Seems to be getting great reviews!
I didn’t know there were trails in Loch Lynn. Thanks for sharing
