Welcome back to Day 26 of Walktober!
Today, we want to hear from you!
What’s your favorite place to walk and take in Garrett County’s world-famous fall colors? 🍃 🍁
Here in Hutton, the leaves changed quite quickly, but I was still able to see an abundance of breathtaking trees in Oakland this weekend. Going for a walk in the fall and taking photos with my family is one of our favorite activities to get outdoors and get in a few extra steps!
As the leaves begin to change, I think the walking path from the Town Parking Lot in Oakland to the Glades has some of the most beautiful trees in the county – from the rich amber shades in front of the Lighthouse, to the massive oak leaves that flutter down from the trees on top of the overlook.
What’s your favorite place to walk in the fall? 🍂

The leaves here in McHenry were amazing yesterday. Beautiful day for a walk.
A walk along the lake in McHenry is beautiful!
I drive to Oakland from the northern end of the county each day via 219, and I’ve been in awe of the colors this year and how long they’re lasting!
The leaves on my drive home to White Church Road are bursting with color.
My husband and I walk on the road that goes in front of our house, Clifton Drive. It is a dead end road, so not much traffic. It is lined with beautiful oak trees in ours and our neighbor’s yards on both sides of the road. It is breathtaking in the fall. People sometimes come to our yard and ask to use it as a background for a photo shoot.
I love to walk on our family farm. Hilly woods trails. The dogs can be off leash. Lots of chipmunks to chase. Beautiful leaves.
I love either New Germany State Park or Poplar Lick, both places are absolutely breathe taking.
I wish the fall foliage would last longer!
I took a moment to admire all of the fall colors when out and about yesterday! I wish it would stick around a little longer.
I agree, Yesterday the colors were bursting everywhere!!!! I love the path through Deep Creek State Park and even all of State Park road. Its gorgeous all year long, esp now with the colors….
Bummed it’s cold and rainy again. Guess I’ll have to get my steps in on the treadmill.
My favorite place to walk is Broadford Park (because it’s so close) or along the river in Kitzmiller. 🍁
I enjoy walking just about anywhere but I especially enjoy walking in the woods near home where a new golf course is being developed. When I walk close to home Tyson can join me and walking is one of his favorite things to do!
I love walking through through the woods on a brisk autumnal day…anywhere!
Beautiful photo!
Going for a walk in the fall is one of my favorite activities. Our county is beautiful!
