Step One is all about understanding where you’re at, and learning a little bit more about your possible risk for developing prediabetes. From there you’ll know what resources you need the most and be able to connect with a professional.

The Garrett County Health Department’s Office of Population Health, Innovation, and Informatics is coordinating this campaign in partnership with Garrett County Health Planning Council’s Diabetes Ad-Hoc Committee.

Are you at-risk for prediabetes?

The first step is often the hardest – but not this time! Take the Prediabetes Risk Test to understand your risk for prediabetes and/or developing type 2 diabetes.

Once you complete the prediabetes risk test (developed by the CDC and American Diabetes Association), you will have a better understanding of your current risk level.

With this information, you will be able to evaluate prediabetes/diabetes prevention programs and services in Garrett County to find the best fit for you.

Many of the diabetes prevention programs and services offered in Garrett County are available at no cost (for elligible individuals) or covered by insurance. Additionally, there are several community resources that are available to the public free of charge.
