UPMC Western Maryland is inviting a wide group of community partners and stakeholders- from local primary care doctors and community health workers to churches and charity organizations—to collaborate and strategize on how to support community partners like us in our work to connect residents across Garrett and Allegany Counties to the National Diabetes Prevention Program and Diabetes Self-Management Training, while also helping residents of these counties with the other factors that impact their ability to prevent and treat diabetes. On Go! Garrett County we’ve talked a lot about ways to improve health and sometimes a class is exactly what’s in order to begin a new lifestyle. Hop on and see what UPMC has to offer and share with them what types of information, preferred format, and best times for you to attend a class, remember virtual may be an option. Garrett and Allegany Counties are among the top ten counties in Maryland with the highest death rate from diabetes so it’s vital that we all keep working together to reduce the incidence of diabetes and better the health outcomes of individuals with diabetes in our region!

If you’re interested in participating tomorrow October 15th it’s from 9:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. and the link to join is below. I’ll see you there!
